Pawtuckaway State Park has five new cabins that offer a rustic cabin camping experience.  Each cabin sleeps six people, has electricity, and the campsite includes a fire ring and picnic table.  The campground is open for reservable stays from Memorial Day weekend through Columbus Day weekend.  First-come/first-served camping with limited facilities and staffing is available post-season through November 21, 2009, weather permitting.

Milan Hill State Park
has four new yurts that also sleep six people but there is no electricity. Yurts are canvas-sided structures that can be used year-round, a camping concept new to the state park system. Both the yurts and the cabins offer some protection from the elements, and include windows equipped with screens to let in the cool breeze.  Camping available through mid-November.

Umbagog Lake State Park also has three cabins that are located on the shore of Lake Umbabog. The campground is open for reservable stays from Memorial Day weekend through Columbus Day weekend.

Mount Sunapee State Park offers lean-tos and platform camping. The campground is open for reservable stays from Memorial Day weekend through Columbus Day weekend.

In total, State Parks now offer 12 different opportunities to enjoy a “softer” camping experience.
