BUCKHORN LOOP AND BOARD PILE BROOK TRAIL: Noted for its scenic views, the N.H. Wildlife Viewing Guide identifies designated wildlife watching areas along this route, which includes "moose alley," the most frequently visited area by moose and moose-watchers alike.

CONNECTICUT RIVER BYWAY (Route 3, Lancaster to Canada): Traveling northward along the Connecticut River up to Stewartstown, then turning eastward to Pittsburg and continuing north through Lake Francis and the three Connecticut Lakes, this byway is rich with natural and cultural resources. Highlights include historic markers, covered bridges, scenic views, and recreational opportunities.

BIG BROOK BOG: Recommended bicycling on Big Brook Bog Road, just south of Deer Mountain Campground.  Follow road to boat launch area.
